Jim Kirkness was born and raised in Montana where at an early age he fell in love with the outdoors. That love of the outdoors has taken him through farming, ranching, outfitting and guiding big game hunts in Montana, to chartering in Alaska. Captain Jim caught his first salmon on a family vacation in Washington and has been a salmon nut ever since. Fishing salmon in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska has fueled his desire to become a Coast Guard licensed captain of his dream boat in the beautiful setting of South East Alaska.
